Tana Toraja is indeed famous for its unique culture. One of them is the funeral ceremony called Rambu Solo. Rambu Solo is a funeral procession of Torajan people, which is different from common funeral ceremony. By this Rambu Solo funeral ceremony, you can see that Tana Torajan people respect their ancestors very well. The funeral procession consists of several show lists, wherein each of the show, you will able to see the cultural values that still highly maintained by the people of Tana Toraja.
Mainly, the funeral ceremony is divided into 2 processions, which are Funeral procession (rante), and Art Show. These processions aren’t performed separately but completing each other into a full funeral ceremony.

Upon arrival at Hasanuddin Airport Makassar, meeting services. Afterwards we will take you out on the picturesque drive to Toraja with approx 8 hours driving along the Bugisnese villages with their typical houses. We will stop for a photo-taking during the trip. Lunch (excluded) will be served in a seafood restaurant in Pare-Pare. In the afternoon stop on the PuncakLakawan to enjoy the spectacular view. Arrive in Rantepao in late afternoon. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at Hotel.
After breakfast, a full day exploring Toraja. First you will visit Lemo to see rows of Tau Tau statues and the hanging graves. Then continue to discover the secrets of baby trees in Kambira. Onwards to Suaya to the graveyard of Kings of Sangalla lies on the hillsides, and then proceed to Londa to see ancient tombs in which the deceased was not buried, but placed among the rocks. At KeteKesu one of the oldest Torajan villages you can see Tongkonan (the traditional ancestral house, or rumahadat of the Torajan people), and also the old traditional rice barns with colorful woodcarving. After breakfast, we will bring you out for a full day trip to Batutumonga, enjoying superb views of Rantepao and the surrounding valleys. You will enjoy a walk along the rice fields where you can see the daily life of Torajan people. Lunch (excluded) in local restaurant in Rantepao. After lunch, visiting Pallawa, Sa’dan, known as the weaving center of Rantepao. Overnight at the Hotel.
After breakfast, drive back to Makassar. Lunch (excluded) will be served at a seafood restaurant in Pare-Pare. Arrive in Makassar in the afternoon. Directly transfer to the Hotel for overnight.
After breakfast, we will take you on a short city tour, visiting Fort Rotterdam the old Dutch fortress and Paotere Anchorage the Makassarese and Bugisnese boat harbor. Afterwards, transfer directly to HasanuddinInternational Airport for your next destination.
